Summer in Japan is all about Natsu Matsuri (夏祭り) – lantern lit evenings, Japanese street food classics served from yatai stalls, and friends gathered around dishes made to pass and share. We’re bringing that food-loving spirit to KIBOU, your go to Japanese restaurant for vibrant sushi, sashimi and small plates guaranteed to travel the table! If you’re looking for somewhere delicious with a Japanese-twist to eat this summer, then you’re in the right place!
Start with the “stalls”
Inspired by the much loved ‘Yatai’ street stall runs found in Japan, our menu is loaded with street food favourites that we know you’ll love (and “reluctantly” share!). Try our takoyaki (Osaka’s octopus dumplings, crisp outside and soft inside), spicy chicken zangi, crisp tempura and nasu dengaku, charred aubergine with a caramelised miso glaze.
Plus, why not add a couple of our KIBOU signatures, such as dynamite prawns, truffle teriyaki tofu, sesame prawn toast bao, dynamite cauliflower or a bite of wagyu crisp… and let the sharing begin.
Drop a centrepiece in the middle
Go big with a platter. Choose our decadent tokujo moriawase (20 pieces of premium sushi and sashimi), the melt in the mouth wagyu zukushi, or our colourful vegetarian yasai moriawase. All ideal for grazers who want the freshest selection of sushi and sashimi without having to made the difficult decision of which to go for!

Keep the festival vibe flowing with a few of our iconic signature sushi rolls. Our tempura fried volcano roll never disappoints and now comes in a vegan option too. Or get your claws into the tempura soft shell crab filled spider roll.
Keep it cool
Then cool things down with a few chilled favourites. Sake Colada (Akashi Tai Honjozo Tokubetsu, pineapple, coconut, lime) is silky and tropical. Pitchi Iced Tea (alcohol free) pairs cold brew jasmine tea with peach. Or stay classic with an ice cold pint of Kirin.
