We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be opening our 5th KIBOU Japanese Restaurant and Bar in the vibrant university city of Cambridge this Summer. Located within the iconic and characterful Grade II listed building at 7a Jesus Lane, home to the Pitt Club, we’ll be taking up residence in the former Pizza Express site.
The restaurant and bar is currently undergoing a full redesign and refurbishment by Q&A Interior Design Ltd, adding our own unique style and quirky touches to this magnificent building.
There’ll be space for 150 covers – so our largest restaurant to date, spread over three distinct dining and drinking areas, each showcasing our love of Japanese design and flair… and of course, some amazing wall art by the talented Martyna Sabadasz.
The menu at KIBOU Cambridge will centre on our beautifully presented sushi and sashimi sharing platters, including a 20-piece luxury ‘tokujo moriawase’, alongside signature sushi rolls, hand-pressed nigiri, and a range of other classic and contemporary Japanese dishes. Expect to find A5 grade seared wagyu served as a marinated tataki or a truffle-topped nigiri, crisp ebi (prawn) or vegetable tempura, steaming bowls of ramen, made with pork, chicken or vegan broth, traditional donburi rice bowls, and a selection of pillowy bao buns or handmade spiced pork gyoza.
The restaurant will also feature a standalone bar serving signature Japanese-inspired cocktails, no-and-low options, an ambitious selection of Japanese whisky, sake and umeshu, and Japanese-brewed beers.
