We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be opening our 6th KIBOU Japanese Restaurant and Bar in Jericho, Oxford’s coolest neighbourhood (according to The Times, not just us!) this July. Located on Little Clarendon Street, we’ll be taking up residence in the former Wilding restaurant site.
The restaurant and bar is currently undergoing a full redesign and refurbishment by Q&A Interior Design Ltd, and we promise you, from the plans we’ve seen, this is going to be another gorgeous venue.
There’ll be space for around 100 covers inside, with the restaurant divided into three distinct zones;- a light and airy conservatory with cosy booth seating and feature neon lighting, atmospheric dining room with views to the open sushi kitchen, and a relaxed cocktail lounge with a steel-topped cocktail and spirits bar. The venue will also benefit from an opulent private dining room, with space for up to 12 guests.
Plus, the restaurant will also include a walled courtyard, with space for an additional 40 covers.
The amazing Martyna Sabadayz will be adding her beautiful artwork and digital animations throughout the venue, plus the restaurant will include stunning Japanese floral and foliage installations, rich upholstery and iconic Japanese block print textiles. We’ll also make the most of the many original features of this stunning Victorian property.
The menu at KIBOU Oxford will centre on our classic and contemporary Japanese sharing plates, beautifully presented ‘moriawase’ sushi and sashimi platters, fresh seafood, A5 grade seared wagyu, and soulful bowls of steaming ramen.
Catering to all Japanese food lovers and those eager to try Japanese cuisine for the first time, KIBOU’s diverse menu also includes an extended vegan offering, Japanese classics, such as teriyaki and katsu curry, and an elegantly rich menu of Japanese-inspired desserts.
To complement the restaurant offering, KIBOU also features a standalone bar serving signature Japanese-inspired cocktails, no-and-low options, an ambitious selection of Japanese whisky, sake and umeshu, and Japanese-brewed beers.
