Mention Osaka, and Japanese street food immediately comes to mind—and we’re excited to bring that tradition to you with our new specials, available this month! Our chefs have crafted dishes that capture the essence of Osaka’s vibrant food scene, offering an authentic taste of this iconic city.
First up, a crowd favourite: Okonomiyaki. These savoury pancakes are a must-try! Cooked teppanyaki-style with grated cabbage and topped with prawns, bonito flakes, and a generous drizzle of umami-rich sauce, try this delicious dish at both our Cheltenham and Battersea restaurants.
Another Osaka classic on our specials menu is Kushikatsu. These deep-fried skewers are perfect for anyone craving a variety of textures and flavours. In Cambridge, enjoy tender beef sirloin skewers, while Cheltenham features mussel skewers with wasabi mayo. If you want to sample a mix, Solihull is serving up prawn, chicken, and vegetable skewers with spicy mayo and tonkatsu sauce.
For noodle lovers, we have Osaka-style udon dishes that will warm your soul. Cheltenham offers Tempura Udon, served with crispy prawn and veggie tempura in a rich broth. Whilst Cambridge serves Kitsune Udon, featuring deep-fried tofu in a savoury bonito broth.
If sushi is more your style, you won’t want to miss our Osaka California Roll in Battersea—spicy tuna topped with seared tuna and a touch of sriracha—or our Ebi Hakozushi, a pressed sushi with king prawn and mango salsa.
Finally, indulge in a refreshing dessert that’s a hit at Japanese summer festivals: Kakigori. Inspired by Osaka’s famous shaved ice shops, this sweet treat is served with mango, passionfruit syrup, and cream, exclusively at Cheltenham.
